Hugs, Kisses and a Birthday

So, I lied about not playing catch up.  I am going to try... a little =).

Luke and Sophie at "Ya Ya's Beach" before going to dinner at Lulu's for Elaine's bday.

Aunt Riley and Sophie
Loving on her "big city" aunt while she's in town.

Me and Miss Hollywood.  By the look on her face, I think she is protesting the camera =)

Bear hug.

Kisses from Reesie Poo

Sisters, can you see the tension =)  They really do love eachother though!

More of Miss Hollywood

So hard to get these glasses on straight, hey but at least they're not upside down like usual!

Back at the condo for birthday pie?  Elaine making a wish.

Getting a little help with the candles!

Stay tuned for more!

Selah Rose Warren - One year old!

One year ago today our lives were changed forever by the birth of our sweet little Selah Rose. She is a sweet and spirited little girl and possibly may be my "strong willed child." But, I love her so dearly and I know God will mold and mature me as a mother through learning to parent this precious little girl. Selah, I thank God every day for what a blessing you are to our family and I pray that He will use you for His glory all the days of your life.
My view of birth in general was also changed by the amazing experience of Selah's birth. I am slowly but surely learning more and more about the benefits of natural birth and hopefully the next one will be totally natural without any medical intervention. I have come a long way since then but I still have a long way to go!

Stay tuned for birthday pictures!

Life after baby...

This is when Selah was still a tiny newborn size. She was 7 lbs when we brought her home from the hospital. At her one month checkup, she weighed 10 lbs 6 oz. At her 2 month visit, she weighed 12 lbs 12 oz. I cannot believe how fast she is growing. I guess all those feedings every 2 hours during the night were really doing something! Selah started smiling in her sleep in the hospital. Now she does it all the time and it melts my heart. Her Daddy is the best at getting her to smile.
Selah at about 1 week old. This is a picture that looks so much like Sophie.
This is Sophie at 3 months, but don't they look a lot alike?!?

Only 5 days after we brought Selah home from the hospital, we got to celebrate Sophie's birthday. We had to change our original plan of a birthday party at the park. But we still had a fun family birthday at our house. Sophie had a blast and got lots of dress ups and a doll house. I can't believe how big she is and how fast it has all gone by. Three short years ago I was bringing her home from the hospital.
